9-3 Quiet Day for Dio del Muertos
(Day of the Dead) Day of Reflection at Hazelbrand with Cynthia Hizer and Barbara Hotz.
Morning meditation, and following the traditions of Mexico, we will be building altars to our loved ones who have passed on, with marigold and chocolate. $50, bring lunch item to share. Most art materials will be supplied - you bring your own mementos - pictures, treasured items, candles, to add to your take-home altars.
Meditation in Covington!
Wednesdays at the Barn
We will focus on sitting, teachings, and practice on Wednesdays at Hazelbrand Farm. We will sit in the glow and warmth of the wood stove (in the cold months) to traverse a wide range of teachings from Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism and other contemplative paths.
We will refine our practice and breathing, and drink some tea. Let us know if you are coming, and if you can bring your own cushion (we have three to spare). This is a no-charge recurring event as our dana to the greater good.
We will start at the Western beginning, with teachings from Plato, Plotinus, and Philo, Greek teachers and mystics who set the scaffolding for the Christian mystical tradition.
